Cheap Backup Solutions with Secure, Fast Off-site Storage

Off-site backup storage at a flat €5 per TB a month, in ten sizes from 1 TB to 600 TB. Connect any SFTP-capable client or backup tool over SSH, keep a copy of your data away from your production server, and move up a tier the moment you need more room.

Backup Solutions plans

Every backup storage size, one price per terabyte

Ten quotas from 1 TB to 600 TB, billed monthly in EUR with no setup fee. Each plan is the same backup account with a different ceiling — the price per terabyte never changes, so a bigger tier is never a worse deal.

Why it stays cheap at scale

The bill scales with the size — not with how often you use it

Backup storage is quota-priced, not metered. A 600 TB tier costs 600 times a 1 TB tier and not a cent more, and reading your data back costs nothing extra — which is exactly the moment per-request object storage tends to get expensive.

Standard on every plan

What every backup plan includes

The same account, the same access and the same guarantees at 1 TB as at 600 TB. Only the ceiling changes.

Secure SFTP over SSH

Transfers run over SSH on port 22, encrypted in transit. Any SFTP-capable client or backup tool can write to it — no proprietary agent to install.

Private, isolated account

Every service is its own chrooted Unix account with its own credentials. You see your own directory tree and nothing else on the box.

A fixed, honest quota

You buy a size and you get that size. No metered per-request pricing, no per-GB retrieval line item at the end of the month, no surprise invoice after a restore.

Automated setup

The account is provisioned automatically once payment clears, so the credentials and SFTP host are in your client area within minutes, not the next business day.

Usage you can see

Your client area shows used space against your quota, so you know you are near the ceiling before a backup job is the thing that tells you.

Resize as you grow

Move up the ladder at any time — from 1 TB to 600 TB — without rebuilding your backup jobs or moving to a different host.

From order to first backup

How NexonHost backup storage works

There is no console to learn and no agent to deploy. You order a quota, and a few minutes later you have an SFTP target your existing backup tooling already knows how to write to.

STEP 1

Pick your size

Choose a quota between 1 TB and 600 TB. There is no setup fee and no minimum term beyond the monthly cycle.

STEP 2

Setup runs automatically

The backup account is created as soon as payment clears — a chrooted Unix account with your quota already applied.

STEP 3

Collect your credentials

Your client area shows the SFTP host, port and username, and lets you set or reset the password whenever you need to.

STEP 4

Point your backup tool at it

Configure the SFTP target in whatever already runs your backups and let the schedule you already have write to it.

Your client area shows the real host, port and usernamesftp -P 22 user@backup-host rsync -az --delete -e 'ssh -p 22' /var/backups/ user@backup-host:/data/SFTP is available on every account. rsync and SCP are available on supported accounts.
What people back up here

Built for off-site copies, archives and long retention

Flat-rate capacity suits the workloads where the data is large, the reads are rare, and an unexpected retrieval bill is the last thing you want to discover during an incident.

Off-site copy of a dedicated server

Keep the third copy of the 3-2-1 rule somewhere your production box cannot reach or delete by accident.

Database and application dumps

Ship nightly dumps off the machine that generates them, so a failed disk is not also a failed backup.

VM and hypervisor exports

Park Proxmox, VMware or KVM exports on capacity that costs the same per TB at 5 TB as it does at 500 TB.

Cheap cold archive

Move data you must keep but rarely read off your production storage and onto flat-rate backup space.

Separation from production

A separate host with separate credentials limits how far a compromise of one server can reach.

Growing retention windows

Lengthen how long you keep backups by moving up a tier instead of re-architecting where they go.

Off-site is the part of 3-2-1 most servers are missing

The 3-2-1 rule says keep three copies of your data, on two kinds of media, with one copy off-site. Snapshots on the same machine and a second disk in the same chassis cover the first two. The third copy is the one that survives a fire, a theft, a compromised root account or a delete that replicates faster than you can react.

Backup storage FAQ

Questions about cheap, secure backup storage

Pricing, access, security and setup — answered in full, so you can size a plan without opening a ticket first.

Backup storage is €5 per TB per month at every tier, from 1 TB at €5/mo to 600 TB at €3,000/mo. There is no setup fee, and the rate does not change as the tier grows — 600 TB costs the same per terabyte as 1 TB.

Every transfer runs over SFTP on SSH, so data is encrypted in transit. Each service is a separate chrooted Unix account with its own credentials and its own directory, isolated from every other account on the box, and you can reset the password from your client area at any time.

Over standard SFTP on port 22, using the host, username and password shown in your client area. Anything that speaks SFTP works — sftp, FileZilla, WinSCP, rclone, Duplicity, Restic, Borg over SSH, Veeam, Proxmox Backup, or a NAS with an SFTP target. rsync and SCP are also available on supported accounts.

Setup is automated. The account is provisioned as soon as payment clears, so the SFTP host and credentials normally appear in your client area within minutes of ordering.

No. You pay for the quota you ordered and nothing else — there are no per-request charges and no separate retrieval or egress line item, which is the cost that usually makes a large restore from object storage expensive.

Yes. Move up to a larger tier whenever you need to. Because the storage is presented as a plain SFTP account, your backup jobs keep the same host and credentials — only the quota changes.

Keep three copies of your data, on two different types of media, with one copy off-site. Off-site backup storage covers the third part: a copy that survives a fire, a theft, a ransomware event or a mistaken delete on the machine holding the other two.

Yes. The backup account is reachable over the public internet by SFTP, so it can take backups from a NexonHost dedicated server or VPS, from another provider, or from an on-premise machine.
